Grangou Marinade - Raw Haitian Epis, No Vinegar
Grangou? No problem. One spoonful and your dish wakes up.
Phafo's Grangou Marinade is the classic Haitian epis in a jar: a raw blend of fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs, and scotch bonnet pepper, prepared without vinegar - just like in the kitchens of Port-au-Prince. It's the secret Haitian cooks use to add depth, body and life to every bite. No cooking, no waiting.
Why you'll love it
- Instant flavor: one spoon turns an ordinary dish into a Creole feast
- Raw recipe, vinegar-free, true to the Haitian epis tradition
- Versatile: meat, fish, vegetables, rice, tofu, quick marinades
- No artificial coloring, bottled in Montreal with fresh ingredients
How to use it
One tablespoon per pound of meat or fish before cooking. Also great stirred straight into rice, sauteed vegetables, tomato sauce, or salad dressing. When you don't have time to chop your aromatics, Grangou does the job for you.
Ingredients
Shallot, onion, bell pepper, garlic, parsley, spices, scotch bonnet pepper, biper eztia, canola oil, sea salt, vegetable base, citric acid, and love.
Grangou means "hungry" in Haitian Creole - and this jar makes sure your kitchen never is.
