About Phafo
The taste of Haiti, made in Quebec
Phafo is the story of a Haitian family who refused to leave their flavors behind. From Montreal, we jar what our mothers and grandmothers taught us: pikliz that crunches with every bite, hot sauces that wake you up, raw marinades (epis) that turn a simple chicken into a Sunday feast.
Our mission
To make Haitian cuisine accessible without compromising on taste. Whether you're a Haitian in the diaspora missing aunt Ginette's pikliz, or a curious Quebecer ready to discover a vibrant cuisine, we made Phafo for you.
What goes in our jars
- Fresh vegetables hand-cut — no industrial shortcuts.
- Family recipes tweaked over generations, never standardized.
- Zero unnecessary additives — if it doesn't belong in the kitchen, it doesn't belong in our jars.
- Real Scotch Bonnet peppers, because we don't fake the Haitian fire.
Our flagship products
- Pikliz — the spicy slaw that goes with everything, from griot to a tofu sandwich.
- Hot sauces — for those who like it loud.
- Epis (raw marinade) — the secret base of all Haitian cooking, ready to use.
- Chiktay — the seafood spread that surprises seafood lovers.
Why Phafo
Because cooking is memory in a jar. Every spoonful of pikliz is a Sunday with family, a wedding in Pétion-Ville, a Thursday-night dinner that suddenly became a moment. We don't just sell condiments — we sell a shortcut to the best of Haitian cuisine, without spending three hours at the stove.
Bon appétit, bon manje, and welcome to the Phafo family.
