What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. All payments are secured through Shopify Payments.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

Yes, within 24 hours after purchase. Email us at info@phafo.com with your order number — we'll handle it.

Shipping & delivery

Where do you ship?

Phafo currently ships within Quebec only. Everything leaves our workshop in Montreal. For the rest of Canada, the US or elsewhere, contact us — we'll see what we can do, case by case.

How long until I receive my order?

Orders received before 1 PM ship within 1 business day. Transit time: 2 to 4 business days in the Greater Montreal area, 3 to 5 business days elsewhere in Quebec.

What are the shipping fees?

Flat fee of CAD $9.95, with free shipping on orders of $75+ (before tax).

Are my jars well protected during shipping?

Yes. Each glass jar is individually wrapped (safety bag + bubble wrap) inside a rigid double-walled box, with a FRAGILE label.

What if a jar arrives broken?

Photograph the box, packaging and jar within 48 hours of delivery, send it all to info@phafo.com, and we'll either replace or refund — your choice. Full details in our shipping & refund policy.

Products & ingredients

What's pikliz, epis, chiktay?

• Pikliz: a spicy pickled cabbage, a staple of Haitian cuisine. Goes with everything.
• Epis: a raw marinade of herbs, garlic, peppers and vegetables — the base of any Haitian recipe.
• Chiktay: a spread of salted fish or herring, perfect on toast.

How spicy is it?

We use Scotch Bonnet, the classic Haitian pepper. Our pikliz is medium to strongly spicy, our hot sauces seriously hot. Heat level is shown on every product page.

Are your products vegan? Gluten-free?

The pikliz, epis and most of our hot sauces are vegan and gluten-free. Chiktay contains fish. Always check the ingredient list on the label for allergens.

How should I store my products?

Before opening: in a cool, dry place. After opening: refrigerated, consume within 4 to 6 weeks for pikliz and epis. Hot sauces keep longer.

Returns & refunds

Can I return a product?

For food safety reasons, we don't accept returns on opened products or on shipped sealed products. If your order arrives damaged or defective, we'll replace or refund — see our shipping & refund policy.
